FIRE ALARMS
At EMF Controls, we supply, install, and maintain fire detection and fire alarm systems for commercial and industrial customers nationwide. We specialise in fire alarms with intelligent network systems for very large premises.
Installing a fully functioning and efficient fire alarm in your place of work is of the utmost importance. It not only alerts you and your employees to any fire hazards but also goes a long way towards the safety of any visitors or customers. Fires can spread rapidly and is extremely important that your fire alarm system is working at maximum efficiency at all times. For large commercial or industrial premises with expensive equipment and technology, it is recommended to integrate a number of fire safety protocols. Intelligent fire detection systems consist of fire alarms, heat detectors, smoke detectors, and provide a greater sense of security and reliability. Intelligent fire alarm systems allow for a much larger fire detection installation that provides a more stable system and can provide more information on the location of fire activations for a faster response.
Fire detection systems can include:
-
Fire Alarms
-
Smoke Ventilation Systems
-
Multi-Point Alarms
-
Smoke Detectors
-
Air Sampling
-
Heat Detectors
-
Control Panels
Fire alarms and fire detection systems require regular maintenance to ensure that they function correctly at all times. With highly skilled and knowledgeable staff, we guarantee a quality service. We can also provide certification and training on how to use effectively use and monitor your fire alarms if required.

Are fire alarms legally required?
Yes, all commercial and industrial properties are legally required to have a fire alarm installed. They must also be tested regularly and be in full working order. This is to ensure that safety of employees and anyone else in the building at all times.
Is there a difference between smoke detectors, heat detectors, and fire alarms?
Technically yes, but all three operate as part of the same safety system. Smoke detectors act as a sensor and detect that smoke is present. The detector then sends a signal to the fire alarm which then emits a noise bringing attention to the fire. A heat detector will signal the fire alarm once the temperature rises above a certain level.
Which is better, a smoke detector or a heat detector?
Both smoke detectors and heat detectors have their benefits and we would recommend that you have both options installed. However in areas where smoke is going to present for example a steam room, then a heat alarm is more suitable.
